Children at a Bradford school waved goodbye to the opposition as they stormed into the regional final of Rock Challenge, Youngsters at Tong High School beat competition from four Yorkshire schools with their performance War of the Waves.
Described as a curious tale of gems of the sea, the performance also won Tong the awards for best make-up, best staging, best stage crew and best drama skills.
Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College were the sixth school to perform on the night, but were not eligible to win the majority of the awards as they previously won Rock Challenge.
A spokesman for the event said: “The performances were amazing and all of the local area did Bradford proud.”
Tong will now perform at the Northern Open final in June. Buttershaw will take to the stage at the Premier final, also in June.
