Drivers have been warned that essential repairs to the gas mains in Laycock, Keighley, will start next week and could cause disruption for a fortnight.
Northern Gas Networks is carrying out the work in Laycock Lane from Tuesday. It will be necessary to close the road and operate a signed diversion that could lead to delays for motorists.
Dean Woolley, network officer at Northern Gas Networks said: “We apologise to motorists for any inconvenience caused while this essential work is carried out to ensure we can continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to homes and businesses in Keighley.
“We know that no-one likes road works and we always strive to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum.
“Anyone that smells gas should call the national gas emergency service on 0800 111 999.”
