Fulneck Dramatic Society is all set for take-off with its latest production, Boeing Boeing.
Set in 1960s Paris, the frothy French farce centres around bachelor Bernard who has three mistresses, all air hostesses.
Crafty Bernard manages to keep them apart with a mixture of planning and Swiss watch-precision timing. As a result they never land in his flat at the same time.
What could possibly go wrong? Plenty, when you throw in the arrival of an old school chum who’s never even kissed a girl, some unexpected timetable changes and a rebellious maid. Cue a flight plan heading for some serious mid-air turbulence.
Director Dave Robbins says: “There’s nothing like a good belly laugh, so we decided to give our audience a bit of a tonic with Boeing Boeing. It’s a funny play that doesn’t just rely on the situation to deliver the laughs. There are some great one-liners in it too.”
The comedy show runs at the Comenius Arts’ Centre, Fulneck, tonight and tomorrow.
