A man who stole £2,000 worth of Yorkshire Stone flagstones has been fined £460.
The 22-year-old man from Thornton, Bradford, pleaded guilty to taking more than 40 slabs from Prospect Mill in Thornton Road, Bradford, when he appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court.
PC Cheryl Johnson carried out an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip off from a member of the public, who said that the man had been seen moving a large quantity of flagstones in his garden.
The stone was identified by its owner and has now been returned.
Inspector Andy Croasdale, of North Bradford Police, said: “This is an excellent result and shows that we will literally leave no stone unturned and act on all the information that is available to us to pursue criminals in the area.”
