A district nurse who has cared for thousands of people in their own homes across Airedale is to feature in a TV documentary.
Dot Scarth, who works for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, was filmed for the BBC2 series Keeping Britain Alive: The NHS in A Day.
A camera crew followed her as she visited a housebound patient and her husband, whose health was also affected by a long-term health condition.
Mother-of-two Mrs Scarth, of East Morton, said: “My patients and carers really enjoyed taking part in the filming and I want to say a big thank you to them all – they were truly wonderful.”
The series was filmed in one day, last October.
The episode featuring Mrs Scarth – which will be screened next Tuesday at 9pm – examines the NHS outside the hospital environment and reveals its role in people’s lives, from cradle to grave.
