Five people were arrested by vice squad officers during a raid on a suspected brothel in Bradford.
Police swooped on the house after local residents complained about men going to the property.
Officers went to the address, in Southfield Lane, Great Horton, at 8pm on Monday and led a number of people from the premises.
Three women, aged 18, 26 and 27, and two men, aged 30 and 31, were detained and last night remained in custody for further questioning.
Officers also seized cash and property from the house.
Sergeant Tom Casey, of the Bradford South Vice Team, said: “These latest arrests represent our continued focus on removing brothels from our neighbourhoods.
“The feedback and support we are generating from residents is enabling us to quickly identify premises and deal with the occupants.
“In this latest raid, we seized £7,000 in cash, nine mobile phones, a laptop and other items.”
Sgt Casey said that since the end of January, police had made 25 arrests for offences relating to brothels and it was making a significant difference to the quality of life for local people.
He added: “Their presence in an area only encourages anti-social behaviour and blights the lives of those who live around them. Residents are not prepared to accept brothels operating in their neighbourhoods or the anti-social behaviour which inevitably comes with them.”
In January, the Telegraph & Argus highlighted a similar raid on a suspected brothel in Bradford.
Four women and a man, aged between 22 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of keeping or managing a brothel after officers executed a warrant at a house in Napier Terrace, Bradford Moor. Again, it followed complaints from local residents.
Last year Sgt Casey reported that officers were inundated with tip-offs from the public about brothels in residential areas after publicity in the Telegraph & Argus.
Anyone with information about such activity is urged to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
