A “fantastic” concert at Haworth Parish Church launched the second stage of its three-phase restoration programme.
‘Viva la Musica’, a 12-strong travelling choir from Leicestershire, delivered an hour-long concert with an English pastoral theme. The following day they performed the rarely-heard choral Eucharist at the church’s service.
The concert on Saturday raised £100 towards the renovation.
Praising the visitors’ performances John Huxley, of the parochial church council, said: “They were magnificent - we’ll be inviting them back.”
Fundraising for the work will be boosted by an open day at the nearby Old School Room this Sunday, starting at 11.30am.
