Staff at an award-winning outdoor education centre are celebrating the near completion of a major project.

Bruce Fowler, manager of The Nell Bank Centre, in Denton Road, Ilkley, is pictured with Declan Brett, of B&H Construction, at the accessible Tree House facility, which will be opened during the centre’s fun day on Saturday, May 11.

The innovative tree house has been funded by a former Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Peter Hill, as part of his charity appeal during his term of office.

Mr Fowler said: “This unique facility allows wheelchair users and those with other additional needs to play alongside those more fortunate.

“We just cannot wait to open it after continuous challenging weather throughout construction.”

Nell Bank is one of Britain’s leading edge facilities for learning outdoors and 23,000 children and staff visited last year.

Tickets for the Family Fun Day and all Nell Banks activities are open to all ages.
