Otley’s MP has helped launch a supermarket scheme designed to get young people “growing their own”.
Greg Mulholland (right) (Lib Dem, Leeds North West) joined up with staff at the town’s Waitrose store and pupils and teachers from four primary schools for the event.
Children from The Whartons and All Saints, Askwith Community Primary School, and Green Meadows School, Guiseley, were presented with seeds, equipment and instructions on how to grow their own vegetables.
The Waitrose Grow and Sell initiative will also involve them selling their produce either to schoolmates or store's customers.
