An unmarked police car smashed through the wall of a bail hostel after being involved in a collision with a suspected stolen car.
Two police officers and two suspects are being treated in hospital for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, after the smash near Cleckheaton town centre at around 3am today.
The two men - one a Special Constable - had to be cut from their car, an unmarked silver BMW.
Two men in the suspected stolen car, a black Audi A3, have been arrested. One had been rescued from the Audi and the other, believed to be the driver, was found nearby. The men are aged 23 and 25 and are from Bradford.
No-one in the bail hostel was hurt.
A specialist firefighting team spent four hours rescuing the casualties and shoring up the hostel to prevent it from collapsing. Police have cordoned off Scott Lane and Northgate as they investigate the crash.
Afterwards the police helicopter Twitter feed stated: “Cleckheaton, serious RTC. Assist in search for driver who had run off. Returned at 04.18hrs, male located by dog unit nearby.”
