A new Otley food takeaway and cafe is hoping customers will enjoy its use of a technique more normally found in gourmet restaurants.
Corner House Kitchen, on Wesley Street, is using the ‘sous-vide’ method – which involves slow cooking food sealed in airtight bags – as a way of ensuring their meat dishes are especially tasty.
The business has only been open for a week but partners Katie Driver and Kirsty Fairhurst, from Addingham and Ilkley respectively, have been impressed with the warm welcome they’ve received.
Kirsty said: “Otley's such a friendly place and there’s always something going on.
“What we’re doing with the Corner House Kitchen is quite a big thing for us, because a lot of places are closing and people are worried about taking the risk of starting a new business.
“We think using sous-vide will give us something unique.”
