The tenth Bettys & Taylors annual Fat Rascal bike ride for charity has taken place.
The 125 mile-long bike ride set off from Bettys York at 7am, took in breakfast at Bettys Northallerton, elevenses at Bettys Harlow Carr, lunch at Bettys Ilkley and dinner at Bettys York.
A record number of riders took part, with 130 cyclists raising more money than ever before for a collection of Yorkshire charities. Over the past ten years the ride has raised over £40,000.
The group is spearheaded by Taylors of Harrogate managing director Andy Brown, who cycles regularly with the York Peddlars. The riders were a mix of the York Peddlars, friends and employees from Bettys & Taylors. Andy said: “The first year there was just 15 of us, we got up to 73 last year, and now we have 130 people.
“It’s a really great, but hard day, with such a buzzy atmosphere.”
