A nursery has donated more than £600 to the neonatal unit at Airedale Hospital.
First Class Childcare was looking after older brother George at the nursery when his younger sibling, Roman, was born prematurely at Airedale Hospital in November 2011.
Emma Smith, nursery manager for First Class Childcare Yeadon, said: “Staff saw first hand what the family went through when Roman was born and they really praised the unit, so we wanted to help the unit continue to be able to care for and save the lives of premature babies like Roman.”
The nursery, which chooses a different charity to support each year, chose Airedale’s neonatal unit for 2012. Jo Newman, matron for children’s services at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This generous donation will go towards a new incubator for premature babies on the neonatal unit.
“I would like to thank the nursery for nominating us as their chosen charity and for their donation.”
