A man who handed in a suspect to police while dressed as Batman is to face a crown court trial on a burglary charge.
Stan Worby made worldwide headlines when he was unveiled as the comic book caped crusader who walked into Trafalgar House police station in Bradford with his friend and told stunned officers: “I’ve caught this one for you!”
Yesterday, Worby, 39, a Chinese takeaway delivery man, of Milner Ing, Delph Hill, Bradford, and his friend, Daniel Frayne, 28, formerly of Queen Street, Buttershaw, but now of Sandringham Road, Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, appeared before Bradford and Keighley magistrates.
Worby indicated a not guilty plea and elected to be tried at the crown court on June 21.
Frayne had pleaded not guilty at a previous hearing.
His solicitor, Kam Dhesi, confirmed his client wanted to be tried by magistrates, and there would have to be a separate trial.
