Bradford’s £24 million City Park has been recognised in the annual regional property ‘Oscars’.
The development (above), which has a high-tech water feature, was highly commended in the regeneration category at this year’s Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Pro-Yorkshire Awards last night.
The regeneration prize is awarded to a project that has made exceptional improvements to urban, rural or coastal areas.
The judges praised City Park - home to a six-acre public space and mirror pool with 100 fountains – for being a critical and influential part of Bradford’s regeneration which is helping to attract visitors and businesses to the city. They said it was an impressive runner-up in a fiercely competitive category which was won by a new luxury restaurant in Hull.
Appleton Academy in Bradford was short-listed in the design and innovation category.
