Five men appeared before magistrates yesterday in connection with a £1.4 million haul of heroin – one of the biggest-ever seizures in Bradford.
The men, all from the city, faced two drugs conspiracy charges when they appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.
The court hearing followed police raids the previous day, as part of the ongoing drugs and firearms Operation Sabredale crackdown.
The five accused, who were all produced from custody, were charged with two offences of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, heroin and cocaine, between March 1 and November 10 last year.
The defendants are: Sheeraz Khan, 32, of Ploughman’s Croft, Bolton Woods, Bradford; Junaid Khan, 30, of Folkestone Street, Bradford Moor; Saif Almeskry, 21, of Acton House, Scoresby Street, Little Germany, Bradford; Shazad Khan, 30, of Japonica Way, Bradford Moor; and Tahir Ali, 27, of Thornton Lane, Little Horton, Bradford.
Bail applications were made for all the defendants, except Ali, but were refused by the magistrates and all five accused were remanded in custody.
