A team of inspectors has delivered a “requires improvement” verdict on Oakbank School in Keighley.
The assessors from Ofsted awarded Oakbank an overall grade of three out of four possible grades. This rating, which Oakbank also attained at its previous inspection, used to be classed as “satisfactory”, but last year the wording was altered to “requires improvement” as part of a revamped Ofsted inspection framework.
Oakbank head teacher David Maxwell said: “This is an accurate picture of where the school is at present. It is positive that the inspectors see that we are an improving school and we are making strides to being outstanding. They recognised that we have a good sixth form. Students excel, and we have students this year who have been successful in their applications to Cambridge University and medical school.”
