A pair of South Craven School students are bracing themselves to carry out a fundraising parachute jump this summer.
Rebecca Barrett and Rachel Hargreaves, who are both in year 13, have booked a flight and are now busy raising the money necessary to do the jump in August. They want to give the additional cash they make to Manorlands Hospice, where they say friends and family members have benefited from the care provided in the past. A spokesman for South Craven School said: “They have to get £1,100 between the two of them and have £750 so far.
“They’ve raised this much via sponsorship, cake baking and collecting change in charity-type boxes.”
