Twenty men answered the call for new recruits for the Silsden fire crew.
They attended a recruitment day at the town’s fire station on Saturday to find out all about becoming retained crew.
On-call personnel are paid to work part-time on a standby system, sometimes as a second job.
Silsden firefighters, who must live or work within five minutes of the station, tackle about 350 incidents a year.
Silsden crew manager Peter Hanson was pleased there was a positive response to the recruitment drive.
