Dozens of people enjoyed a presentation and lunch at a Keighley community centre yesterday.
The event at the Sangat Centre, in Marlborough Street, honoured the facility’s outgoing chairman of governors Kay Lindley and also saw about 40 certificates awarded to some of those who completed courses in the last six months.
Among the guests were visitors from the Skills Funding Agency and the UK Careers Service – who had come to see how Sangat is helping people enter employment or training.
Mrs Lindley, who was involved with the centre since 1994 and has been chairman of its governing board for ten years, said: “It does feel strange to be leaving after such a long time. It’s pleasing to be leaving the centre in a strong position.
