A campaign group fighting to protect part of the Bradford district from unwanted development will hold a pan-Yorkshire conference in Leeds this weekend.
Wharfedale and Airedale Review Development (WARD) is joining forces with the Campaign to Protect Rural England to stage the event.
The MP for Pudsey, Stuart Andrew (above), and Yorkshire and Humberside MEP Godfrey Bloom, will be speaking at the conference.
The conference will look at whether new national and local planning laws are a real threat to green spaces.
WARD said: “Across Yorkshire there are hundreds of areas waiting to be regenerated and thousands of homes standing empty, yet developers continue to build on our green spaces in preference to building on derelict and brown field sites.
“This conference will bring together a wide range of participants and organisations who are striving to highlight the complex planning issues, policies and legislation which threaten our green spaces.
The event will take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday April 27 at the Methodist Church, Oxford Place, Leeds.
