City Park is full of fun to mark St George’s Day today. The celebrations are underway in the showpiece city centre park and will continue until 2pm.
The entertainment includes street theatre in and around Centenary Square and City Park, featuring a damsel riding a dragon, a knight on stilts and a juggling jester to entertain passers-by.
A St George’s flag dance and a knight in shining armour will also form part of the entertainment.
The Bradford branch of the Royal Society of St George laid a wreath at the cenotaph in the centre of Bradford at 11am, before meeting the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith, at City Hall for a short reception.
The bells of City Hall also played a medley of tunes, including Jerusalem and Rose of England at 11am.
Coun Smith said: "St George’s Day is a great tradition that Bradford enjoys participating in and I’m sure visitors will enjoy this colourful event to celebrate our national saint.”
