A shed was destroyed by fire early this morning.

The lean-to structure was at a house on Little Horton Lane, Bradford.
Fire crews from Odsal and Bradford stations were called to the scene at 5.20am.

Odsal watch commander Andy Mason said the house itself was smoke-logged and that the man living there was lucky there wasn’t any further damage.

“He had no smoke detector,” said watch commander Mason. “Police who were passing by at the time alerted him to the fire.

”It could have easily gone into the building - luckily it didn’t.”

The shed had timber and garden waste inside and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
