A guitar player and humanist hopes to form a group of like-minded people to share his artistic passion.
Pete Westwood has been a guitar teacher for 12 years as well as a qualified psychotherapist who uses music to help his clients.
As a humanist he is part of a non-religious movement of people who live ethical lives on the basis of reason and humanity.
Mr Westwood, of Vale Terrace, Oakworth, near Keighley, said: “Human creativity lies at the heart of humanism. To attempt to comprehend the reality of existence and imbue it with meaning, music and other humanities all have their part to play.”
He hopes to hear from humanists with an interest in the arts so they can meet to fulfil their creative potential.
In his work he provides a one-to-one counselling service for children or adults who want to use music to address personal and emotional issues.
Mr Westwood said: “Many people use their own music libraries as ‘musical self-medication’. Music is a rich and safe source material with which to discover who we are and what we might become.”
