Keighley Police Station will be served by buses for the first time from July in agreement between the Town Council watch and transport committee and TLC Travel, with support from the police.
From July 20 727 service buses will take in Airedale House, Royd Ings Avenue.
Committee chairman, Coun Graham Mitchell, said: “We felt the re-routing of one bus service would address the problem of no direct public transport access to the police station.”
TLC Travel general manager, Barry Cliff, said: “We had no objection but the service is a Metro contract, and we needed permission from Metro to make a route variation.”
Police divisional commander, Chief Supt Angela Williams, said: “Although the police station is a 10 minute walk from the town centre, some members of the public are unable to walk this distance.”
