Children in Bingley were urged to make their voices heard during a speaking competition.
Bingley Rotary Club organised Youth Speaks Out, which was sponsored by a £350 donation from the town’s Yorkshire Building Society branch.
Seven primary schools entered a team made up of three children, who acted as chairperson, presenter and proposer. Each team made a short presentation on their chosen subject, to be judged by a panel of adjudicators.
The winning school was Sandy Lane Primary, whose team spoke about child poverty.
Branch manager Karen Doran said: “We were very proud to sponsor this event and I think we were all incredibly impressed by every one of the presentations.
“Our branch has been open less than a year, but by working with Bingley Rotary Club we have had the chance to take part in some fantastic community events and we look forward to being able to support other good causes.”
