A bookmaker hailed a “successful” start to 2013 after enjoying its best ever result at this year's Grand National when 66-1 outsider, Bingley-trained Auroras Encore, won at Aintree.
William Hill’s said the 11-year-old horse, from Sue Smith’s stable in High Eldwick, had helped the firm to surpass its record win on the 2009 Grand National race when Mon Mome romped home at 100-1.
Auroras Encore will be reunited with jockey Ryan Mania today to seek more glory at Ayr in the Coral Scottish National.
The horse romped home to victory by nine lengths in the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree on April 6.
But less than 24 hours after tasting victory in the world's most famous steeplechase, Mania had to be airlifted to hospital following a heavy fall at Hexham.
