Budding fundraisers are being encouraged to boost funds for a regional brain tumour charity.
BTRS (Brain Tumour Research and Support Across Yorkshire) – formerly Andrea’s Gift which was founded in Bingley following the death of Bradford mum, Andrea Key, from a brain tumour – has set a challenge for cyclists and walkers to support its worthy cause.
On Saturday, May 18, BTRS is hosting the Big Bike Ride, a 63-mile ride from Wetherby to Scarborough.
On Saturday, June 22, fundraisers can join the 26-mile hike along Yorkshire’s Three Peaks.
The third challenge takes place on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14 in memory of Ian Meek (pictured) who died from a brain tumour last year and whose £100,000 legacy is helping to fund a research student.
The Ian Meek Challenge is a 220-mile cycle ride from Bristol to Leeds.
