A family has seen their plans for new houses on their Steeton farm refused because of their potential effect on the Green Belt.
Bradford Council has refused a planning application for two agricultural workers dwellings on Brighton House Farm, off Intake Lane.
The applicants, the Fort family, said there was a need for two new houses, saying the farm could not function without all members of the family residing there.
But planning officer Peter Timbrell pointed out that there was already a dwelling on the farm, meaning another two were unnecessary.
He also pointed out that the farm was only 1km away from Steeton.
While he recognised the need for workers to live on farms, his refusal said: “It is not considered essential that all farm workers be accommodated on the farm at which they work.”
