Morton Women’s Institute met on Tuesday, April 9, when arrangements were made for the Aire Gap Group Show and names were taken for the Group Rally at Laycock on Saturday, June 8. Members were asked to let the secretary know if they wished to join the Federation 50/50 Club and also if they were able to offer cakes and/or help at the Morton Meet today. The speaker, Penelope Scott-Rowley, brought with her one of her many dolls’ houses which was also a milliner’s shop. She passed round several dolls, all beautifully dressed in period clothes, plus many other dresses, hats and accessories, all of which she had made herself. She was thanked for a most interesting and entertaining evening.
The annual parochial church meeting will take place during the 9.30am service on Sunday.
Services at St Mary’s this week: Sunday 8am Holy Communion BCP, 9.30am Morning Worship incorporating the APCM; Tuesday 7pm Evening Prayer; Wednesday 10am Holy Communion.
