Sunday: Christ church: There will be a Parish Eucharist service at 9.30am, followed by the annual parochial church meeting There will also be a Heartbeat service starting at 7.30 this evening for all the churches of the village.

Methodist church: A service, led by Terry O’Shaughnessy will begin at 10.30am, and will be followed by refreshments and a chance to spend time with friends old and new.

Crossing the Bridge is a Youth Group for Oakworth people aged 13 to 18 who are interested in learning more about being a Christian.
The group meets fortnightly on a Sunday evening from 7pm to 8.30pm at Oakworth Methodist Church.

Babies and Toddlers – term time only: A group, where babies and toddlers can learn and play, with stories and singing and Mums/carers can enjoy each others company whilst watching the children play and also get involved with their games.
Zumba classes this evening from 7pm to 8pm run by fitness team/Zumba instructors – BodyblitzGB. Admission is £5.
Cubs and Beavers of the village meet in the Methodist Church this evening; beavers from 5.45pm to 6.45pm and cubs from 7pm to 8.30pm; this is a fun and educational way to spend an evening for young boys.

A coffee morning is held every Wednesday at Christ Church, with fair trade tea and coffee and biscuits, from 10am to 11.30am. This is followed by a short Eucharist service at 11.30am for those who wish to stay.

On Sunday there was a very special marriage ceremony at Scartop Chapel. Gladys Spencer, 77, of Oakworth (she previously she lived in Scartop as a girl) and Pat Maloney, 69, became the oldest couple to be married in the chapel. They were joined by family and friends to celebrate the occasion and a reception was held afterwards at the Snooty Fox. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Maloney, we hope you will have a long and happy marriage.
