The man struck at the Halifax Road supermarket in Buttershaw at 1.20am last Friday.
He ran out of the store with the till, before dropping it and running off up Bottomley Street.

He is described as white, aged between 25 and 30, about 5ft 7ins tall, slim, and with short brown hair.
He was wearing a grey hooded top with blue jeans, which had elastic round the ankles, and black pumps.
