Plans to improve rail journeys between Bradford Interchange and Manchester Victoria will be discussed at a meeting.
Metro’s Bradford District Liaison Committee will talk about proposed investment in the Calder Valley Line when it meets at Bradford City Hall at 9.30am on Monday.
A report to go before the meeting states that Network Rail has produced a new Strategic Business Plan outlining major investment planned for the UK’s rail network over the next few years, including for the Calder Valley Line.
As part of the route’s upgrade, there would also be track layout improvements at Mill Lane junction, near Bradford Interchange, to cater for more trains.
The route, which runs from the Interchange to Manchester via Halifax, would benefit from line speed improvements to reduce journey times as part of the Northern Hub plan.
