Rawdon bus campaigners are holding a public meeting tonight to call for better public transport for the town.
The group, which says it wants to see better public transport for “all of Rawdon and beyond” has set up the meeting as a chance to discuss future positive action.
Campaigners say many elderly people are cut off by a lack of buses, and are becoming isolated. They are arguing that “enough is enough.” They are calling on local people to come along and bring suggestions to the meeting at Billing View Community Centre from 6pm to 7pm.
People in and around the Billing View area say they are struggling to get to their community centre as well as shops and other facilities because of a lack of adequate transport links. Last year they launched a petition calling on transport bosses to improve bus routes within Rawdon.
