A widow is desperately appealing for help to find her pet dog after the companion went missing during a burglary at her Keighley home.
Lesley Lawrence arrived at her bungalow on Sunday evening to find the kitchen window smashed, a sledge hammer on the floor and precious gifts missing.
Mrs Lawrence, 61, had spent the day in Heckmondwike sorting out papers at her late husband’s company. She said the patio door had been opened and four-year-old Tilda was missing.
Mrs Lawrence moved to Long Lee Lane, Long Lee, in December to be nearer to her two daughters.
She said the dog, which she has had for two years, was especially important to her.
Tilda is a black Jack Russell-Patterdale cross with distinctive long hair on her back. She was wearing a turquiose blue collar with white spots and Mrs Lawrence’s former Mirfield address on it.
Anyone who sees the dog can e-mail burnie182@ hotmail.co.uk.
The burglary happened between 9am and 6pm on April 14. Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestopper anonomously on 0800 555 111.
