A grandmother from the district was arrested during a protest at a naval base yesterday.
A group from Yorkshire was among about 250 people taking part in a non-violent blockade in Scotland.
Anti-nuclear protestors chained themselves to a gate of the Faslane base on the River Clyde, which is home to the UK’s Trident nuclear submarine fleet. The Government will vote on whether to renew Trident in 2016.
Sylvia Boyes (pictured), from Keighley, was among those arrested. She said: “Now is the time for everyone who believes in nuclear disarmament to add their voices to the campaign.”
The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament says scrapping Trident would save £100bn which could be used to fund teachers and nurses.
