Mobile phone footage of disorder following Bradford City’s match with Chesterfield has been posted online after a weekend marred by football violence.

Clips have been posted on YouTube which appears to show Bantams’ supporters and Chesterfield stewards throwing punches on the side of the pitch after Bantams’ 2-2 League Two draw at the Proact Stadium on Saturday.

Police last night confirmed officers and stewards dealt with a small number of “minor incidents” during the match and had made four arrests.

A 35-year-old Bradford fan was arrested for possession of heroin before the game and given a police caution after admitting the offence.

A teenage Bradford supporter was arrested during the game for pitch encroachment and two Chesterfield fans were arrested after the match on suspicion of affray. They have all been bailed further inquiries.

A small number of fans were also ejected from the ground during the game following disorder.

Chief Inspector Paul Markham, who was match commander, said: “Officers and stewards dealt with a small number of minor incidents during the game between Chesterfield and Bradford City on Saturday.

“The majority of fans came to watch the match peacefully but a small minority were involved in disorder, which was dealt with quickly by police and stewards.”
