A man who was paralysed after stepping on a sea urchin is to take part in a 10k race in a wheelchair.
Callum Hall, 20, is determined to walk again and has launched a campaign to pay for equipment and treatment to help him achieve his aim.
Now the young man, who had been studying for a sport degree, is planning to take part in the Leeds 10k – Jane Tomlinson’s legacy run – in July along with family and friends.
Callum is trying to get hold of a high-specification road wheelchair – but if necessary he will use his ordinary wheelchair and be pushed along the route.
Callum, who lives with his parents in Yeadon, was left fighting for his life and was paralysed by a spinal infection after returning from a holiday in Greece last year.
He is now determined to complete the whole of the 10k race whether he can get hold of a specialised wheelchair or not. Go to callumhalltrust.com to find out more or to make a donation.
