Concerns about the future upkeep of Eastburn Playing Fields have been aired by Steeton-with-Eastburn parish councillors.
They questioned whether Bradford Council would continue to cut the grass and carry out regular safety checks on the playground.
One councillor suggested such services could be lost during the next round of multi-million pound budget cuts by City Hall. The concerns were raised during the annual meeting for Eastburn Playing Fields committee, hosted by the parish council which is responsible for the land.
Chairman David Mullen said the parish council might have to pay for cutting costs from its own budget. He said he was talking to Silsden and Addingham parish councils about possibly clubbing together to hire a contractor.
Coun Mullen added: “I would fight tooth and nail for Bradford to continue safety checks. They’re doing all the other play spaces across Bradford.”
