A probe was continuing yesterday into the cause of a fire which led to two cats being rescued by firefighters from a Bradford flat.
Fire crews from Bradford and Idle stations spent three hours battling the blaze in a ground-floor flat in Heath Road, Undercliffe, on Thursday night.
No-one was in the property at the time of the incident.
Residents from the flat above evacuated themselves and called the fire service.
When firefighters got to the flat at 9pm they could see smoke coming out of the front window and back door of the property.
Two cats were found in the flat and were given oxygen to revive them.
Considerable damage was caused to the flat and smoke affected neighbouring properties.
Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
