Highways bosses are planning a second test of their scheme to open up the hard shoulder on the M62.
The test will take place from 9.30am to noon between junctions 27 and 28 tomorrow.
Traffic officers in the Highways Agency’s regional control centre at Wakefield will set overhead message signs to indicate when drivers can use the hard shoulder as an extra lane, and will also display variable mandatory speed limits on overhead electronic signs.
But road users are being reminded that when the hard shoulder is not indicated as a running lane, it should be used for emergency purposes only.
The first tests last Sunday went well, an agency spokesman said.
