Bradford Council will spend £45,000 re-laying an Oxenhope road used by only a handful of people. Outside Lane is not a through road, and only used to access several farms and rural properties. But a recent road survey found it to be one of the worst in the Keighley area, and on Thursday Bradford Council’s Keighley Area Committee approved works on the 650 metre stretch of road as part of £206,000 worth of highway maintenance projects. Highways office Keith Escritt told the committee: “It is not a high priority. But we don’t really have an option; it could cause bigger problems down the line.” Other roads given funding include £50,000 for North Dean Road in Keighley, and £30,000 for Parish Ghyll Drive in Ilkley.
