Two comedy nights are back in the Aire Valley.
My Newt Comedy returns to Shipley’s Waterside Restaurant on Monday, with Gary Delaney as the headline act.
Gary, who has appeared on Mock The Week, Dave’s One Night Stand and Radio 5’s Seven Day Sunday, has been described as “the master of the one-liners”.
Steeton stand-up and My Newt promoter Daniel Kennedy says: “Persuading Gary to come and perform at the Waterside is a real coup for us. He’s in huge demand and one not to miss.”
There’s support from Nick Cranston, a rising star from the North East, Jed Salisbury from Hull and Leeds comics Dave Rivers and Callum Scott. For more details, ring (01274) 594444.
Over at Caroline Street Social Club, the next Jolly Mixtures sketch show takes place next Thursday.
Organiser Rob Gilroy, who started out in stand-up and has written comedy for the likes of Dave Gorman, is aiming for the shows to become monthly events.
“Live stand-up is popular, but there are few opportunities to see good sketch shows,” says Rob, who performs in sketches with Graham Oakes, Nicola Redman and Amy Gledhill.
