Bradford Youth Players are putting on The Wizard Of Oz – and are appealing for people to help make their Emerald City as ‘green’ as possible.
“We’re looking for donations of unwanted items such as colourful clothing, paint, timber, building materials and fabrics to produce a recycle extravaganza to be proud of,” says Kathryn Tonks from the Players.
“Another way to get involved is to donate time and skills. Anyone with a fashion design background, sewing skills, set-building experience or just a couple of hours a week to spare can get involved in any way at all.”
The show will run at Lord Kalms Theatre, Dixons City Academy, from July 18 to 20.
Dorothy will be played by 15-year-old Rosie Hadley and her brother, Joe, will be escorting her from Munchkinland to the Emerald City as her faithful companion, the Scarecrow. Playing the Wizard is Richard Fisher, in his second production for the Players, and the Tin Man is Jonnie Taylor, who has been with the society since his teens.
