A Keighley woman is aiming to raise £2,500 by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this summer.
Jenna Meeking, 23, from Ingrow, will be climbing in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation. She has arranged for a group of about 30 other students to take part in the challenge. Together they hope to collect a combined total of £78,000.
Jenna is a former Oakbank School pupil, now in the third year of a health and exercise science course at Sheffield Hallam University. When she completes her studies she will be working as a universities fundraising manager.
Her mother, Christine, said she should be scaling the 5,895m Tanzanian peak in July, and needs to reach her fundraising target by then.
“Jenna is really into fitness and exercise and loves outdoors activities,” she said. “She’s looking for support from any individual or business willing to contribute – it doesn’t matter if someone gives £1, every penny helps.”
