A £150,000 cycle route will help riders avoid some of Keighley’s busiest roads and roundabouts.
Department for Transport funding has been announced for the proposed route linking Stockbridge with Utley.
The cash is a boost for Keighley’s cyclists in advance of the Tour de France passing through the town next summer.
The new route will take cyclists from Stockbridge along Royd Ings Avenue, behind Cougar Park, then along an old track under the Aire Valley trunk road at Beechcliffe.
Existing pedestrian crossings will be upgraded to cyclist-friendly Toucan crossings. The route will connect with the Airedale Greenway cycle route, and continue to Holy Family School.
