The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has today informed Bradford Council that it will provide £3.5 million in funding to secure the future of two major city centre sites – the former Odeon building and the former Tyrls police station.
The investment of £1.3m for the former Odeon and £2.2m for the former police station, which both sit adjacent to City Park, is aimed at allowing the Council to progress with its regeneration of the city centre.
Bradford Council last month agreed to take on the two sites for £1 each- if the HCA agreed to provide £4.1m funding.
The Council will now need to decide if it will go ahead with the deal with the HCA figure.
