Guiseley and Rawdon councillors are aiming to deal a knock-out blow to cold calling in their ward.
Councillors for the area are giving £3,000 to Guiseley Neighbourhood Watch Association to restrict or eliminate the practice of cold calling, which can see residents pestered for hours by salesmen.
The £3,000 will pay for the initial leaflet production and distribution and the provision of window stickers and lamp post signs.
Councillor Graham Latty said: “The Guiseley Neighbourhood Watch Association does a wonderful job of making the area feel safer and we are really pleased to support this project.”
