Two drug addicts who worked the streets of Bradford peddling heroin and crack cocaine have been given jail sentences totalling ten years.
Mohammed Dad, 39, was locked up for six years at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.
Jason Walker, 37, arrested with Dad in the car park of Morrisons on Thornton Road, Bradford, was jailed for four years.
The men, of no fixed address, were caught with wraps of class A drugs on June 19 last year after police were tipped off that they were acting suspiciously.
Dad was the driver and Walker had 22 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine in his jacket, down his trousers and in his sock.
Four more wraps were found in the car, along with mobile phones with incriminating texts.
Prosecutor David McGonigal said the vehicle the men were dealing from was insured in their names.
While on police bail, Dad was re-arrested in Manningham on August 2 with eight wraps of class A drugs.
Both men pleaded guilty to street drug dealing.
Nigel Jamieson, Dad’s lawyer, said his client had a long-standing drug addiction and was put under pressure to deal.
Alistair Bateman, for Walker, said he was a heroin addict who began selling drugs to support his habit and pay off a drugs debt.
Judge Jonathan Rose said the men had appalling criminal records, mainly for stealing to pay for drugs.
Both had convictions for possession of drugs.
