A Keighley pub has proved so popular that its owners plan to expand the brand to Huddersfield.
Keith and Tracey Veer opened Percy Vear’s Real Ale House in May last year, taking the struggling Friendly Inn and turning it into a successful business. It now sells around 850 pints of real ale a week.
Now they plan to re-name a pub they own in Huddersfield, the Old Cask Inn, as Percy Vear’s Old Cask Inn. The pubs are named after Keith’s grandfather, Crossflats-born Herman (Percy) Vear, who was a professional boxer.
